“Heart Knowledge: The Lord’s Wisdom verses Head Knowledge:Man’s Own wisdom

The Lord has directed my heart to share His Truth with you in Psalm 19 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.  Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display their knowledge.  There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.  Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.  In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course.  It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat.  The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul.  The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.  The precepts of the Lord are right , giving joy to the heart.  The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.  The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever.  The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous.  They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.  By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.  Who can discern his errors?  Forgive my hidden faults.  Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me.  Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression.  May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. 15:33 The fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.  16:1-7, 16, 18-23  To man belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the reply of the tongue.  All man’s ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord.  Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.  The Lord works out everything for his own ends- even the wicked for a day of disaster.  The Lord detests all the proud of heart.  Be sure of this:  They will not go unpunished.  Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord a man avoids evil.  When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him.  How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver!  Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.  Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed than to share in the plunder with the proud.  Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.  The wise in heart are called discerning, and pleasant words promote instruction.  Understanding is a fountain of life to those who have it, but folly brings punishment to fools.  A wise man’s heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction.

1 Corinthians 1:19-31  For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”  Where is the wise man?  Where is the scholar?  Where is the philosopher of this age?  Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?  For since in the wisdom of God the world did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.  Jews demand miraculous  signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.  For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.  Brothers, think of what you were when you were called.  Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.  But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the strong.  He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things- and the things that are not- to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.  It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become or us wisdom from God- that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.  Therefore, as it is written:”Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”
