“Give Thanks To The Lord”

Psalm 92

It is good to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy loving kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.  Upon the instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.  For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

O Lord, how great are thy works!  And tby thoughts are very deep.  A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.  When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever: But thou, Lord, art most high for evermore.

For, lo, tthine enemies, O Lord, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.  But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.  Mine eyes also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in the Lebanon.  Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.  They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; To shew that the Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.  KJV

“An appeal for unity” Brethren listen to these words regarding the same mind of Christ without divisions

1 Corinthians 1:3-10 Grace be to unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.  I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; That in everything ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:  So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:  Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.  God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.  NOW I BESEECH YOU, BRETHREN, BY THE NAME OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, THAT YE ALL SPEAK THE SAME THING, AND THAT THERE BE NO DIVISIONS AMONG YOU; BUT THAT YE BE PERFECTLY JOINED TOGETHER IN THE SAME MIND AND IN THE SAME JUDGMENT.

The Lord has spoken to my heart to read these verses and share with you my fellow believers in the faith of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior regarding our mind being unified without division.  We, who are in the body of Christ have the Holy Spirit of Truth and thus, we have not our own opinions of the meaning but rather Truth in all understanding and knowledge of Christ being the same.  Take heart these truths in Corinthians 2:10-16 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.  For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?  even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.  Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God:  for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.  FOR WHO HATH KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE MAY INSTRUCT HIM?  BUT WE HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST.

Now realize that this is speaking of judging THINGS not condemning people.  We also need to have discernment which is sound judgment regarding people and situations which is NOT CONDEMNING but rather judging what is right or wrong in order to stay away from being led down a path of destruction.  Proverbs 3:21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:  2 Timothy 1:7-10 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

“The Lord’s healing and revival of those who have a contrite heart” Isaiah 57:14-21

And one shall say, “Heap it up!  Heap it up!  Prepare the way, Take the stumbling block out of the way of My people.”  For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.  For I will not contend forever, Nor will I always be angry; For the spirit would fail before Me, And the souls which I have made.  For the iniquity of his covetousness I hid and was angry, And he went on backsliding in the way of his heart.  I have seen his ways, and will heal him; I will also lead him, And restore comforts to him And to his mourners.  I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near,” Says the Lord.  “But the wicked are like the troubled sea, When it cannot rest, Whose waters cast up mire and dirt.”

Our sinful nature is a stumbling block to all people including the saints, however we who are born again in the name of Jesus have the Holy Spirit of Truth who guides us in the Lord’s righteousness.  One thing I realize is how I don’t want to sin against God and hate my sinful nature.  But I realize that at times I do sin and need to repent and confess it to God in the name of Jesus seeking forgiveness.  The devil tries to trick me at times by saying how can I be saved since I sin at times?  The Holy Spirit of Truth always brings me to His Truth in God’s Word and in my heart to know that I am saved by the Grace of God and not of myself or works.  This just happened to me the other day with regard to myself and at times I focus on myself instead of the Lord and this I hate which is my selfish and sinful ways.  God comforted me in my heart with His Word and guided me to read these verses and share with you for encouragement in the Lord.  Because of God I have a contrite and humble spirit and heart as I am sad for when I grieve Him with sin.

These words bring such comfort to my heart and realize that God has mercy on me and all the saints who love His Son Christ Jesus.  Take comfort in these words dear brethren in Philippians 1:2-11 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.  I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace.  For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ.  And this, I pray that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

“A Prophet without honor in His Own country, family, and home.” Messiah Jesus is Lord and Savior!

Jesus was rejected more than any other prophet, and yet He was more than a prophet, for He is the Living Word of God who came in the flesh, the second person in the Godhead and the creator of all things in heaven and on the earth. False prophets are very popular because they speak of vain words to gain popularity and are not ordained by God. No one wants to hear of judgement and truth as it is not what they want to know. But Jesus came to give good news, and yet those who rejected Him were blind and deaf spiritually which is far worse than physically being unable to see and hear because of eternal condemnation for those who reject God’s Son, Jesus whom was foretold in the Old Testament by the ordained prophets of the new covenant of Israel and the grafted branches of those who are not natural born children of Israel who receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The prophets of God spoke of Jesus in the Old Testament and were very unpopular, abused, and the people ignored prophecy spoken by the Holy Spirit of God through them. These were the true prophets of God and in Revelation it speaks of the Spirit of prophecy being those who speak of the Lord Jesus Christ. Revelation 19:9-10 Then he said to me, “Write:’Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! FOR THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS IS THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY.”

Now Here is the rejection of the Lord Jesus at Nazareth in Mark 5:38-43, 6:1-7 Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly. When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.” And they laughed Him to scorn. But when He had put them all out, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement. But He commanded them strictly that no one should know it, and said that something should be given her to eat. Then He went out from there and came to His own country, and His disciples followed Him. And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, “Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands! Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon?

And are not His sisters here with us?” And they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, “A PROPHET IS NOT WITHOUT HONOR EXCEPT IN HIS OWN COUNTRY, AMONG HIS OWN RELATIVES, AND IN HIS OWN HOUSE.” Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching. Ultimately Jesus would be rejected, abused, humiliated, and nailed to a cross at Golgatha with two criminals on each side of Him. John 18:28-40, 19:1-4, 14-19 Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium, and it was early morning. But they themselves did not go into the Praetorium, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover. Pilate then went out to them and said, “What accusation do you bring against this Man?” They answered and said to him, “If He were not an evildoer, we would not have delivered Him up to you. Then Pilate said said to them, “You take Him and judge Him according to your law.” Therefore the Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,” that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled which He spoke, signifying by what death He would die. Then Pilate entered the Praetorium again, called Jesus, and said to Him, “Are you King of the Jews?” JESUS ANSWERED HIM, ‘ARE YOU SPEAKING FOR YOURSELF ON THIS, OR DID OTHERS TELL YOU THIS ABOUT ME?” Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have you done?” JESUS ANSWERED, “MY KINGDOM IS NOT OF THIS WORLD. IF MY KINGDOM WERE OF THIS WORLD, MY SERVANTS WOULD FIGHT, SO THAT I SHOULD NOT BE DELIVERED TO THE JEWS; BUT NOW MY KINGDOM IS NOT FROM HERE.”

Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are you a king then?” JESUS ANSWERED, “YOU SAY RIGHTLY THAT I AM A KING. FOR THIS CAUSE I WAS BORN, AND FOR THIS CAUSE I HAVE COME INTO THE WORLD, THAT I SHOULD BEAR WITNESS TO THE TRUTH. EVERYONE WHO IS OF THE TRUTH HEARS MY VOICE.” Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all. But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Do you therefore want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” Then they all cried again, saying, “Not this Man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber. So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him. And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe. Then they said, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they struck Him with their hands. Pilate then went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no fault in Him.” Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, “Behold your King!” But they cried out, “Away with Him, away with Him! Crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!” So he delivered Him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led Him away. And He bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgatha, where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center. Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

JESUS IS RISEN WITH MANY WITNESSES IN John 20:11-16, 19-22 But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. Then they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.” Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. JESUS SAID TO HER, “WOMAN, WHY ARE YOU WEEPING? WHOM ARE YOU SEEKING?” She supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.” JESUS SAID TO HER, “MARY!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is also to say, Teacher). Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “PEACE BE WITH YOU.” Now when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Then Jesus said to them again, “PEACE TO YOU! AS THE FATHER HAS SENT ME, I ALSO SEND YOU.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT.”

The Lord’s ascension to heaven is witnessed by the disciples in Acts 1:9-11 Now when He Had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner, as you saw Him go into heaven.”

“Our Gathering Together” DON’T LISTEN TO MEN, LISTEN TO GOD’S WORD, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12

Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report, or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come.  Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.  He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.  Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things?  And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time.  For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.  And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.  The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing.  They perish because they refused to love the truth and be saved.  For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved  through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.  He called you to this through our gospel , that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.  So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.  May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us, and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
